Thank you for visiting our website. Our office is open daily, with the office manager's hours from 9:30am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday. Therapists work a variety of hours, with evening and Saturday appointments available.

Intake calls are handled by our office manager or Dr. Karen Gieseke. After reviewing your needs, Dr. Gieseke will determine whether or not she or one of her staff therapists would be available to best accommodate your needs.

When you call for the first time, and if it is between 9:30am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday, you may personally speak to the office manager. She can take down all your information and she will ask you what health insurance you have. She will then give this information to Dr. Gieseke who will review the information. If we are able to accomodate your needs, we will schedule an appointment as soon as possible. We attempt to return all calls the same day they are received if at all possible. If you call earlier in the day, your chances are very good that you will get a call back sooner. If you call in the evening after business hours it is more likely that you will get a call back the next day.

Insurance/billing

For your convenience, for all types of counseling that we provide we accept some health insurances. At the current time, we accept all Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island plans (Blue Chip, Health Mate, Federal Employee Program, and Classic). We are preferred providers for Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you have questions on your specific Blue Cross Plan, you can check your insurance booklet, or you can call our office and our office manager can assist you. Blue Cross plans offer good coverage for all mental health services.

We also accept: Neighborhood Health Plan and Tricare Prime and Standard. Some providers accept United Healthcare. If we do not take your insurance, we offer a discounted cash rate for our services.

For psychological testing and neuropsychological testing services we accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island. For educational testing, no insurance is accepted. We offer a reduced cash rate for this service. If your insurance plan does not cover testing you may receive a quote from Dr. Gieseke over the phone.

For any questions about fees, please contact our office by phone. All patients are expected to pay their copay at the time of the session. We also ask that a 24 hour notice for cancellation be provided if possible.
